About the Owner
All Natural Cleaning Services
Louisha Barnette created All Natural Cleaning Services during her senior year at
North Carolina State University. At that time she was completing three Bachelor
of Science degrees: Biochemistry, Microbiology, and African American History
and Community.
Her desire to create a company that offers a healthy alternative to cleaning,
stemmed from her research and medical experiences. Barnette began
conducting research at the age of 15 at the National Institute of Environmental
Health Sciences. From her sophomore year of high school to her sophomore
year in college, Barnette researched various topics such as breast cancer,
ovarian cancer, and Alzheimers disease. Research gave her an appreciation of
the environmental impacts of health.
During her junior year at State, Barnette traveled to Arusha, Tanzania to volunteer
at a maternity ward, and to learn how to develop community centers that promote
self awareness. While overseas she reignited her love for direct patient care, and
decided to work towards becoming an Obstetrician. The following summer, she
became a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Duke Hospital as an EKG
technician. While working at the hospital, Barnette realized that she did not agree
with the allopathic philosophy of health care.
What to do next? After reading a book by Kevin Trudeau, Barnette came up with
the idea of All Natural Cleaning Services. The adventure would allow her to
combine all of her passions: research, health care, and teaching. After starting All
Natural Cleaning Services, Barnette also continued to conduct research, and
worked as a high school Biology, Physical Science, and Earth Science teacher.
